The Greater Beaumont Chamber and its allies have established a sound and successful foundation for economic development by placing the needs of established and new businesses first on its agenda.

“We are proud of our business community and the new companies that now call Beaumont home,” says Jim Rich, Greater Beaumont Chamber president, explaining the Chamber’s efforts today are aimed at marketing a booming local economy, great location, and available labor force. “We have the business incentives and resources in place to advance your business.”

 Tax Abatement and Incentives

City of Beaumont tax abatement helps reduce the substantial costs usually associated with locating or expanding a business in a local community. To assist in this effort, the City of Beaumont revised its policy to further enhance the benefits afforded under this program. The following types of businesses are eligible to apply for tax abatement. All applications are considered on a case-by-case basis

Jefferson County also offers business incentives and tax abatement to certain sectors. The new policy has no specific minimum investment or job creation requirements, making tax abatement available to small businesses. The combined city/county enterprise zone, along with the new tax abatement policy, is designed to stimulate local development and encourage entrepreneurship. The percentage of abatement and length of time are determined on a case-by-case basis and are tied to the use of local subcontractors or the direct-hire of local labor. Contact Jefferson County by calling (409) 835-8466 or visit www.co.jefferson.tx.us.
