February 12, 2008 Installation of 2008-2009 Officers and Board of Directors

                                                      

 The installation will be conducted by members of the TCI from the Houston area at a luncheon on February 12, 2008 at 11:30 am at the Cattle Company.  Come out & show your support for your new leaders!

 

                                                                                              

The ballots have been counted, the committee has reported.  The SDTC Officers and Board of Directors for the 2008-2009 year are:

Congratulations to this new group of leaders for the ensuing year.  However, there are plans in the works to ask several other members to serve on committees for the new year.  So if any member would like to serve on any of our committees, please get in touch with Danny Phillips at 838-0126.  He is in the process of selecting committee members.

              

 

Two Lamar students chosen for SDTC annual scholarship awards. Amy Valastro and Emily Proctor were chosen by Dr. Kabir Sen, Department head of Marketing for Lamar University.

 

These two students are going to college full time while working full time jobs as well.  Both students will be graduating in the next year.

 

Also recognized was Lacy & Logan Theriot, the current recipients of the dependent scholarship awarded in August 2007.

 

Many thanks to all our members who have participated in the monthly fund raisers in order for SDTC to be able to continued to award scholarships!

How long does it takes?  If you don’t wait to the last minute to apply, the average time is about 5-7 days.  You can pre-enroll online or in person at one of the sites listed for Beaumont/Port Arthur area. From a personal experience, the enrollment in person takes about 15-20 minutes. Then they will call you back & let you know when the card is ready for you to pick up at the site where you applied.

 

There is a help desk for the TSA’s TWIC Program.  The phone number for the help desk is 1-866-347-8942.  The help desk will be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 12:00 am EST. 

 

 

 

We are currently seeking prizes and donations for our NTW raffle.  If you would like to make a donation, have an idea, or could help the committee members with obtaining some really great prizes for the fund raiser, please contact Danny Phillips or Robert Ferguson at 838-0126 or Sherry Eckerle at 791-3259.  Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
